Why does Maya dislike white people so much?

    she doesn't like white people bacause she doesnt think of them as people, she thinks of them as foreign since they treat the blacks differently and the segregate themselves from the black community.thinks as there's us and there's the white people instead of just people.

    I don't think that she see's white people and not people but more of the white people seeing her as different and she resented them for that.
